In my search for a classic horror book I stumbled upon Frankenstein by written Mary Shelley at the age of nineteen. I have read it before, but it is a book that you may read and re-read many times (hence, it is a true classic!)
Aah, what could be a better gift than a classic horror book, written in a magnificent language in a time when women wore beautiful dresses and complicated hair styles, while the gentlemen had fancy coats and flamboyant shirts.
Romantic and horrible is the story of Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a vile creature. The story is both dark and gothic, and even though it was written in 1817 it is really easy to read. The language is slightly old fashion, but definitively not cryptic and adds an extra dimension to the dreadful history. The story is set in a rather high pace, so that it never grows boring, and different characters tell their own story.
I am a fan of the old classic books, like Dracula and Frankenstein . The classic stories are in a special league and the delicate story of Frankenstein and his monster will be read by generations to come, not only because it once had been elected as a classic book, but because the story has survived decades and always enchant a new generation of readers.
